If anyone has got a nice digital photo of the Sycamore tree that they could email me I would be very grateful as this may help in our discussions with Highways, Woodland Trust and the AONB.

Update:
The Parish Council are waiting for more information from Highways. We are also in contact with the AONB and the Ancient Tree Forum. As soon as we have more news we will let everyone in the village know. No work will be carried out on our Sycamore without more consultation.

I for one, would be very sorry to see the tree felled or cropped to a stump and would be happy to sign a petition to protect the tree, if the Parish Council have put together a petition?

The tree has been identified as being diseased and Highways want either to fell it or reduce it to a monolith.

There are laminated signs up around the tree the jackdaws sit in on the grass triangle near the church.
The signs say that no work is to be done to the tree without contacting the parish council.
Does anyone know what work is being talked about?
It is a beautiful tree with a rich village history.
I would be interested to know what is being talked about regarding this tree.

On Sunday morning (6th Oct 2019) at approximately 10-30 am the two Staddle Stones were stolen from outside Pen Mill (the home of Roger & Rosemary Price). A white van was followed being driven slowly and suspiciously down Coombe Street to Pen Mill at about this time. The neighbour opposite saw a large white van parked outside the cottage but assumed it was a delivery driver. A white van was also seen travelling at speed along Bleak Street between 10-30 and 11-00. If anyone has further…
