Freeview TV reception on Pen Ridge by the church

I'd be interested to know if anyone else gets the same issue we have up here near the church. We get a great TV signal on the BBC channels, but pretty average on ITV/C4/5. The signal strength is the culprit. For those more into digital TV, this means we're OK with MUX 49, but flaky on 54.

The result is picture freezes on those channels. Since the BBC channels are great, it is unlikely to be the equipment or cabling.

But I thought I'd ask those of you up near the church if you are getting similar before I climb onto the roof to hit the aerial with a stick.

I've got good reception on Freesat and via aerial (not sure if it's Freeview) on all free channels. Occasional weak signal when weather is bad. Come round when I'm back to discuss setup.

Freeview is very problematic for lots of viewers. Pen is a long way from the nearest transmitter and because some channels are transmitted with more power than others, then if you are on fringe reception, or do not have a clear line of sight, those with weak transmission power are always the first to become "blocky". If you have a clear line of site to the relevant satellite, then freesat is far superior and all channels should be fine.
