On Friday 9th November, we had our third bell ringing outing.  We visited three different churches (South Cadbury, Maperton and Horsington) which while they were all 6 bell ground floor rings, were all rather different bells to ring.  Moving to a strange tower can be difficult but we achieved good standard of ringing in all three towers; including one where the bells were half muffled in preparation for Remembrance Sunday.  Half muffling sounds very good but the demands on the ringers to be more accurate are something else!  At another, the tower captain rang afterwards to say that locals had commented to him about how nice it was to hear the bells rung so well.  We finished the outing with excellent dinner at Rita and Dick’s and it is fortunate that we were not ringing early the next morning.
