fatal injury

A few days ago a horse in a field near Long Lane became frightened , jumped out of the field and broke its neck falling in to Long lane.On the same afternoon another horse was badly cut in a wire fence. There is no proof, but the strong likelihood is that these horses were chased by dogs.If dogs are under proper control this sort of tragedy wont happen

Heard about this terrible accident on 19th July, and circulated a request among Bourton dog owners to keep all dogs on leads when walking on public footpaths containing livestock. It should be normal practice of course, except if actually threatened by livestock, at which point the dog should be released for personal safety reasons. Hope there are no recurrences of this tragic event.
