The community website for Pen Selwood
The History Society is for everyone interested in the history of Pen Selwood. We foster and promote the study and appreciation of local history by sharing what we each know about the past.
The meetings will be held monthly between October and April usually on Wednesdays at 7:30pm in private homes. We may arrange some outdoor daytime visits.

Hello
I am making of study of Primitive Methodist chapels in Dorset and Somerset. I understand that the chapel in Pen Selwood, originally sited in Chapel Lane, was closed in the 1950's. Can anyone confirm that the building was totally demolished or was it modified for residential use ?It is difficult to see on Google Street View what structure is on the site now.Additionally if anyone has or knows the whereabouts of a photo of the original chapel I should be delighted to hear from them. I am not local but live in South Dorset. Many Thanks
Martin Reeves
