At rather short notice, former school and battle buddies Neil Polley and Christopher Hill have volunteered to drive a 4x4 pickup out to Ukraine in a few weeks’ time.

Our pickup will be used as a medevac, resupply and aid delivery vehicle in support of the war with Russia. The need for pickups can’t be overstated: the battlefield in Ukraine is very different to anything we ever saw, with drones having made tanks and armoured vehicles largely redundant and almost everything being done by pickup. Even with their speed and flexibility, the life expectancy of a pickup is short and the Ukrainians need a constant supply.

Our aim in writing this message is to ask for your donations to help us raise £5,000 to fund the purchase, servicing and fit out of the vehicle. If we raise more, it will go towards an anti-drone signal detector which hopefully will prolong the life of our vehicle!

A link to our Donorbox fundraising page is here(www.https://donorbox.org/christopherneilukraine) and we ask you to give as generously as you can. The page includes full details of the mission and how to donate. If you’d like your donation to show up on the donor wall, please opt-in otherwise your donation will remain anonymous.

We will be operating under the umbrella of Driving Ukraine, an Oxfordshire based charity that sends convoys of about 20 vehicles every month to Lviv (49 convoys completed so far), from where they are collected by Ukrainian troops and taken forward to the front line.

Lastly, we would be hugely grateful if you could please share this message with your own networks to ensure the widest possible reach for our fundraising efforts.

Thank you so much for your support.
