Ninesprings Café, Education and Information Centre set to open its doors

Ninesprings Café, Education and Information Centre is set to open its doors to the public on Tuesday 28 October, offering a high quality coffee experience, with a natural twist.

Sitting on the cycleway through Yeovil Country Park, with great links to Yeovil town, the new centre includes a superb family and dog friendly café, offering a range of products in a lovely setting. Public toilets are easily accessible from outside if you do not want to come in, but some fantastic images and information about the park, and its natural and built heritage are on display inside.

Councillor Sylvia Seal, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture said, “We are really pleased to finally be opening this great asset to Yeovil Country Park. We believe it will become a great community centre for many groups and a meeting place before exploring Yeovil Country Park for residents of South Somerset and visitors. Come and visit the café and enjoy a warm drink; use it as a relaxing break from your Christmas shopping over the coming months”.

It is hoped that the new centre will help more people explore Yeovil Country Park and also provide greater information to people who already enjoy its facilities. The venue will also be used as an education and information centre for the park, and will be the new base for the countryside ranger team and park volunteers.

Katy Menday, Countryside manager said, “We are absolutely delighted to be opening this multi-purpose centre for the park and wider community of Yeovil. For many years we have been consulting with park users and working with our Friends group to make this a reality. Hopefully visitors will find that the services that will start to be offered from the centre will enhance their visit to the country park, and the facilities should ensure that more people and groups, like those from local schools, can now visit us”.

The Ninesprings Café, Education and Information Centre has been constructed with the generous support of grant funders. A full list of funders can be found at www.southsomersetcountryside.com.
