On 10th March the Parish Council agreed that the village should have a way of supporting anyone who wants help or is ill with the Covid 19 virus.

Since then we have been instructed to stay at home and only go outside for food, health reasons or work.  All events in the village have been cancelled for the foreseeable future and the Village Hall is closed.

Many people have spontaneously helped neighbours and there is a small coordinating group working to ensure no-one is missed out inadvertently. Some people just require a chat to share concerns and have a chance to socialise, others want help with accessing food or medicines.

We don’t want anyone to feel they have to get through this on their own and if they need support they can contact one of:

01747 841431 (Elizabeth and Adrian Carter)

01747 840164 (Carol and Robert Nutter)

01747 841481 (Jane Ashman and Richard Gething)

01747 841216 (Geoff and Stella Parcell)

Let us know if someone in your household gets ill so we can check in with you regularly. If you know of anyone you think may not be getting the help they require talk to them and give them this information.

There’s a lively WhatsApp group and Facebook page to keep in touch with others in the village and share information, and key information is being collected on the Help on Coronavirus in Pen Selwood page on the website. We have collected your suggestions for home delivery of food and on ideas for entertaining yourself at home. This also has a link to the latest government guidance.

If you know of people who are not, or cannot, access these technologies please copy them the information. We will do another house drop to those homes we know either don’t have a computer or dislike social media and the internet.

Keep well at home and stay safe.
