Surviving Winter

Every year, Somerset Community Foundation runs this appeal, encouraging people who do not need their Winter Fuel Payment to donate it so that it can be redistributed to elderly residents suffering from fuel poverty in the county. Although last year was relatively mild, we still saw a high demand for grants to help keep people warm, well and able to eat properly. During that time we were able to provide vital grants to 390 Somerset households to help them through the winter. For many the choice of heating or eating is a reality.
