Rogation Sunday is traditionally when we ask God to bless our crops and in past times the boundaries of the parish would be “beaten” (walked around) to ask for protection.  This year on Rogation Sunday (May 5^th) we are witnessing the enthusiasm of the people of Pen for growing things and are holding a short service of blessing at the allotments.

All are welcome.  At the service patio sunflower seeds (Helianthus annuus “Big Smile”), instructions and pots of compost will be handed to children for planting and growing and there will be a special class at the produce show at the end of July to judge the best.

It may be muddy underfoot and parking can be tricky so be prepared to walk!
