Wild mink - be careful with your pets

Roy Stone spotted a wild mink in his garden in Coombe Street yesterday.

He believes they can be vicious and dangerous to pet dogs and chickens.

Sale of Calendars

I have today paid £332 into the PCA account, being the profit from sale of calendars. We plan to distribute this equally to the 4 nominated charities - Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance, CAT bus, RNLI and MIND.

Bird Flu

Note: Avian influenza is unconnected with coronavirus (COVID-19).

Public Health England advises that the risk to the public’s health is very low. The Food Standards Agency has said that on the basis of the current scientific evidence, avian influenzas pose a very low food safety risk for UK consumers.

COVID-19

Just before lockdown, the Parish Council agreed that we should set up a group to coordinate voluntary help for those who needed to self-isolate. A lot has happened since then and we are keeping the village website up to date with links to the latest Government advice and regulations and lists of local businesses who will deliver to the village. Most of us have been able to make arrangements to have food delivered or have contacts who will help us with shopping, getting medication and other…
