In case you missed the two massed flights of Hot Air Balloons over Pen today, you may have a chance to see them again over the weekend. 150 balloons are taking part.  More details are available on the Longleat website. Tickets for tomorrow are SOLD OUT but some are available for Sunday. They are expecting ‘perfect’ conditions for tomorrow morning’s launch which starts at 7am.....  There is also an evening event.

The Coffee Morning for Macmillan Cancer Support will be held in the Village  Hall on Sat 28 September 10:30 till 12:00.

Another amazing Fete..... and a wonderful array of sandwiches and cakes of all kinds  were generously donated yet again by so many people in the village. I am amazed every year to see the tables heaving with such goodies. Thank you all so very much.

Many thanks to Helen ,who arranges the rota of servers for all these cakes and sandwiches. It is quite a task.  The long queue for teas started at 12.30 pm and there was no pause until 3.15pm! Richard ,who was on the till, did not come up…

Last weekend’s fete and show were great as an event, wonderful community spirit and observable enjoyment by all who came.

You may have seen Verity Ockenden on her training runs around the village. She will be part of the British team for the European Cup at the Night of the 10000m PBs on Saturday evening. The race is also the British Championship for the distance and the Selection trial for the World Championship.
