Ninian House , Bleak Street

Smiths Building Ltd  apologise for the damage caused to verge outside Ninian House by our  vehicles.  Unfortunately bad weather ,lack of  space and large number of tradesmen working there has left us with no other option.  Rest assured we will  rectify as soon as possible.

If you have been down to Moldram's Ground recently you will have noticed some work has been going on and a new sign describing the site has gone up on one of the gates.

Six of the best

On Saturday afternoon, Pen will host the final of the Diocesan six bell striking competition.  Six bands from all over the diocese will compete and we should hear some of the finest ringing for a long time.

The competition will start at 1:45 and take about two hours.

Each band is allowed a two minute timed practice.  After that the treble rings to signal to the judges that they are about to start.  They ring some rounds, a set piece of 120 changes, some more rounds and then…

Coombe Street closure 27th to 29th September

Wessex Water will once again be undertaking work in Combe Street between the 27th and 29th of this month.  It is possible that the road may be closed a little east of Queen's grove in which case those east of the closure will have to access via Zeals/Bourton.

Pen Selwood’s 68th Traditional Fete will go ahead whatever the weather!

Folk in Pen Selwood are very busy preparing for their family-friendly 68th Traditional Fete, which takes place on Saturday, 5 August, from 12 noon. Record donations have been received for many stalls this year, including the Toy Stall, Pre-loved Clothing and Books Stall, which has received several specialist and hardback music books.

 

Please note that the Fete will still go ahead should the weather prove inclement. Various marquees and gazebos will keep you dry whilst browsing…

Queens Grove road works

Wessex Water have quite a bit of work to do outside no 1 Grove Close which will impact on the Queens Grove footpath and the adjacent parking area.

Work is due to start Monday 26th June and could last two weeks.

Dog Lead Found

I found a yellow & purple dog lead in the woods today. I have tied it around the gate along the path. If you are re-tracing your steps you should find it easily enough.
