A lively crowd turned out for the village litter pick on the 14th of March. Fortunately we had lovely weather and retrieved quite a large amount of rubbish from the hedgerows and lanes. The worst area by far was the approach road into the village from the old A303 leading up to Underhill but in general there seemed to be less everywhere else. It’s great to hear that lots of people are litter picking when they are out and about; it shows!
There were several unusual finds including a wooden spatula that looked like an antique, a toy Pinnoccio hat and two uneaten Snickers bars found by Sue and Tony Appleton who were accompanied by their grandchildren. Tony added that the children had been most put out that they had to go in the bin!!
The bacon sandwiches hit the spot, a welcome end to our morning.
Thank you to everyone who turned out.
