History Society meetings

Nick Hoare will talk about “The History of Stourhead Woods” at 7:30pm on Wed May 17 at  Manor Barn. Please let me know if you are planning to attend so we can arrange the chairs and glasses.

Jenny Steadman will talk about "The Great Game.  Nineteenth Century British and Russian rivalry in Central Asia.” 7:30pm on Wed 7 June at Woodlands. Please let Jeremy know if you are planning to attend.

 

We plan to do further archaeological survey work up on the Beacon field with the valuable assistance of SSARG -  probably in July after the grass has been cut. I’ll confirm nearer the time.

 

An outing has been proposed during the summer - to Old Sarum (http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/visit/places/old-sarum/) and the Salisbury Museum (http://www.salisburymuseum.org.uk/collections).  Drop me an email or phone  841216 if you are interested, then we can sort out a date and logistics.
