Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.
The success of the Black Bin Café and Pen Pub Nights together with the retention of all our regular users has increased the use of the hall but there are still plenty of gaps for anyone wishing to start a hobby, interest or well-being club or restart the gardening club perhaps. Hiring rates are very reasonable.
Given the age of the hall our biggest management problem continues to be maintenance and improvements of which we now have a list of 28 things to do. Here are some examples: Replacing fire extinguishers and panic bars, fixing rotten doors and damp problems, completing the churchyard side improvements for outside use and renovating and redecorating the lobby area. Some of the 28 are seen as urgent and half of them would ideally be done during 2015 if possible.
Some jobs require professional attention and could be quite costly but we have some money set aside to at least get us started. Many jobs could be done by volunteers so if you can spare some time and wield a paintbrush or better yet have some DIY knowledge and skills I would love to hear from you.
